Best areas in SEA for summer through fall?

I am moving to SEA for 6 months starting in June. I know the weather isn’t the best during this time so I am looking to create a general itinerary during this time.

I will like to spend the first couple months hoping from city to city every two weeks starting in Bangkok and working my way down and settling in Da Nang.

Now is it better to spend more time in June/July farther south in Bali or Kuala Lumpur?

I dont really mind the two hour daily shower as long as I can expect some time for the sun to shine.

I am traveling to explore, meet people, and enjoy plenty of the nightlife as well. All this of course managing my time with working about a couple hours daily. So I value certain places (Ko Phangan and HCMC) more than some others (Jakarta and Sebu) for the fun factor.

Any experiences from other DMs traveling in this part of the world at this time is greatly appreciated. I hope to get the most out of it! And maybe Ill see some of you on the other side of these computers.

Indonesia, Borneo and the East coast of Malaysia as well as the Gulf of Thailand enjoy winter monsoon, so in general that’s a better idea during the summer months.

But as you say, rainy season isn’t really all that bad if you can stand some hours of downpour each day.

Bangkok is a great starting point and one of the best hubs in the region, so if you don’t like the rain, just book a last minute flight to Bali.

If I were you, I would plan more than 2 weeks in Bangkok

Hi everyone,

I would love to hear what you'd like me to build next on Nomad List, or any other product/feature feedback ideas you have.

It's been 6+ years now but I'm in this for the long term and with the boost remote work got last year it's even more exciting to work on Nomad List than ever.

The next products/features I have planned:

- 🛂 Rebase: visa, residency and immigration services for remote workers

- 🏛 Gov liaison: diplomacy services to the governments to help us lobby for nomads and for them to attract remote workers

Most Walkable Neighborhood / City In The World ?

I love living in walkable areas of town. I can always find them. But now I'm wondering where in the world are the most walkable places? I'm imagining walk streets (no cars), zoning allowing both business and residential, parks or beaches ,etc.

Hi everybody. I live and work in Germany and want to go to Canary Islands for 6 months to work from there. I'm going to keep my current job, just change the "home" in the home office part of things. Are there any tax issues I have to be aware of? I was reading about becoming a residence after 183 days, thus having to pay taxes there plus my employer having to register there. Does anybody know how it works exactly? Thanks a lot!

Has anyone been testing such device while traveling?

I know it sounds ridiculous to travel with such thing, but it would allow one to still be able to work while in rather unusual places, far away from coworking spaces…

Ko Samui - best areas to stay?

Im planning to go to Koh Samui at the end of April for a month. Does anyone know good areas where to live there and have good internet connection (maybe close to coworking space). Or also after reading some info here in nomadforum - some people say its better to go to Koh Lanta. Any thoughts about that?
